As one of the first law firms in the United States to represent an esports clientele, Quiles Law has a wealth of experience in assisting esports players and coaches. Our esports attorneys have assisted dozens of players and coaches from around the world with their legal needs. Our clients not only include world champions but also semi-pro and challenger-level players.

As experienced esports attorneys, we understand that the global and competitive nature of esports, combined with its increasingly strong internet presence, requires a multi-disciplined approach to all such legal matters. This is equally true when negotiating contracts, counseling a client, securing a sponsorship, or pursuing other legal action. To better serve our clients' interstate and international needs, Quiles Law partners with local law firms in any jurisdiction as necessary.

Should any issues arise from your contracts or with any third party, we are here to help.  Quiles Law is adept at resolving disputes both in informal and formal proceedings. We have represented players and coaches who were a part of league investigations and are the only firm with multiple successful esports lawsuits- brought by both a group of players and a coach.

Quiles Law leverages its attorneys' interdisciplinary legal knowledge with the deep industry understanding that could only be gained by servicing the space since 2015.

Some of our representative matters include:
  • Secured player and coach contracts in League of Legends, CounterStrike: Global Offensive, Overwatch, Valorant, Fortnite, Hearthstone, the Call of Duty series, the Street Fighter series, and other esports titles.
  • Filed the first esports lawsuit against a team, and its owners, for failure to pay a League of Legends coach his salary (Nathani v. Maelstrom Gaming, et. al.)
  • Filed the first esports player lawsuit against a team, and its owner, for failure to pay prize money owed to its former Heroes of the Storm players (Buechter, et. al. v. Naventic, et. al.)
  • Resolved a dispute between a group of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players and its organization, on behalf of the players, which resulted in the players being awarded its ESL Pro League slot
  • Represented a group of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players in a league investigation
  • Resolved payment disputes between esports players and their teams by obtaining the owed funds
